During the protest, the residents blocked the highway with rocks, stopping vehicles and forcing drivers to find other routes. They were frustrated with the government's failure to address flooding caused by heavy rains, leaving their homes flooded.

Videos of the confrontation between residents and police officers circulated widely, attracting the attention of stranded motorists.Police used tear gas to disperse the residents, leading to further chaos and forcing passengers to leave their vehicles and walk to their destinations.
