Mai Mahiu:10 Killed, Scores Injured as Trailer Collides with Matatu in Grisly Accident

 Ten people are reported to have died after their matatu collided with a lorry in Mai Mahiu, Naivasha. News sources indicate the ill-fated vehicle was hit by the truck after losing control. Naivasha OCPD Stephen Kirui confirmed the crash.

According to witnesses, the truck allegedly lost control before ramming into the matatu which was full of passengers.

While confirming the incident, Naivasha OCPD Stephen Kirui noted several others had been injured and have since been rushed to the hospital.

Following the incident, a rescue operation was launched by a team of police officers with the help of residents who aided in removing passengers trapped in the wreckage.

In the images that have since circulated online, the matatu was completely deformed with its glasses strewn all over the road.

The accident caused a traffic snarl-up along the ever-busy highway despite police efforts to clear the debris from the road.
