Before, schools were put into groups like national, extra-county, county, and sub-county under the old system called 8-4-4. But now, they will change this.
Soon, they will talk with many people to decide how to place students in the new system. Schools will be sorted based on the subjects they teach.
They will rename secondary schools to senior schools, where students from junior secondary schools will go next.
In the new system, senior schools will be known for the subjects they teach, like STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Humanities and Arts, and Creative Arts and Sports.
How a school is classified will mostly depend on what resources and facilities it has. Big schools with lots of resources will offer a mix of subjects. Smaller schools might only offer one set of subjects.
Students will spend three years in senior school before going to university or college, depending on what they're interested in and how well they do in school.
