Rift Valley leaders organized a fundraising event to support the grandson of the late president, Daniel Arap Moi. The event happened on Tuesday, April 23, and was led by Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi. They aimed to raise money for Kalya Gift Moi's medical treatment in India.
Sudi, while overseeing the fundraiser, shared that Kalya Gift Moi, a 14-year-old grandson of the late President Moi, is battling cancer and needs treatment in India. The leaders, including Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui, collected KSh 6.15 million within a short five-minute session.
During the fundraiser, Sudi donated KSh 1 million, while CS Kipchumba Murkomen and Governor Johnson Sakaja gave KSh 500,000 each. Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi sent KSh 300,000, and CS Chelugui contributed KSh 400,000.
Kalya Gift Moi, the son of the late Jonathan 'JT' Toroitich, urgently needs treatment in India for a rare jaw cancer. His mother, Faith Moi, had earlier appealed to the public for financial help.
