NAIROBI: Viral Bradijon Mansion Residents Stranded as House Gets Flooded after Downpour, Rescue Ongoing

 Due to heavy rains, floods have caused problems for people in parts of the city. In Zimmerman, an area on the edge of the city, the Bradijon Mansion is affected by the floods. This unique building, which gained attention online in 2023, is now surrounded by water. The ground floor tenants had to leave because of the floods.

YouTuber Gikuni showed the situation in a video. People had to walk through water to reach their homes on the upper floors. A resident said a nearby river overflowed after the rain, flooding the area. They think someone might have blocked the river, causing the water to stay.

Police are assessing the situation to decide what to do next. Kasarani Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner Kamau Maina said they are working with the Kenya Red Cross to keep people safe. Some residents are hesitant to move to safer places.

Annie Lumbasi, who built the house, said it cost her KSh 4 million. She grew up in Zimmerman and now lives between Kenya and the US. The penthouse has four bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen, a laundry room, and a pantry. It also has a great view of neighborhoods like Githurai, Roysambu, and Kahawa West.
