What Gor Mahia Fan Spotted Wearing on During Masheji Derby on Sunday

 Kenyans online had different opinions after a picture of a local football fan wearing clothes similar to the National Youth Service (NYS) uniform went viral.

The NYS was created by a law passed by Parliament and has various roles, including training young people and sending them to do important national tasks.

The picture shows a man wearing pants and a jacket that look like the NYS uniform. Underneath, he has on a green Gor Mahia jersey, a local football team. He also wears a green hat with Gor Mahia written on it. The photo was taken at a match between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards, long-time rivals in Kenyan football.

In the recent game between Gor Mahia and AFC, Gor Mahia won 1-0.Some people online said civilians shouldn't wear uniforms because it disrespects the service members.

A few Kenyans shared stories of getting in trouble for wearing police or military clothes when they weren't supposed to.

Two years ago, NYS warned people not to buy, sell, or wear their uniforms because it's against the law, and those who do could get arrested and charged.
