President William Ruto officially opened the 28-story Bunge Towers on Thursday, April 25. The tower is meant to support the work of 349 lawmakers and 67 senators in the 13th Parliament.
Originally planned in 2009, the tower's cost rose from Ksh5.89 billion to Ksh9.6 billion, prompting concerns about possible misuse of public funds.
During the launch, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula praised the tower, comparing it favorably to the UK's House of Commons.

Design
The tower's architectural design includes a replica of the shield from the Kenyan flag, symbolizing protection, strength, resilience, and the unity of Kenya's diverse communities.
Features
The tower has 331 dedicated offices for senators and legislators, along with 26 committee rooms equipped with advanced audio-visual and conference systems.
Four committee rooms have video conference facilities for remote presentations.The first floor houses a Parliament Library with a collection of documents, reports, laws, and policy papers.
The building includes four basements, 27 floors, six escalators, six lifts, two tunnels for vehicles and pedestrians, and 350 parking spaces.It also features two restaurant spaces, a fully equipped kitchen, and a gym.
In line with green energy initiatives, the tower has rainwater harvesting systems and solar water heating panels on the 27th floor.Wheelchair ramps are provided at various access points for people with disabilities.
